Bishop Castle is the ongoing dream of Jim Bishop, that dream being to single-handedly build a castle overlooking Pueblo. The castle is west of Colorado City, past the town of Rye, but before Lake Isabel. Since 1969, Mr. Bishop has used nearly 1,000 tons of rock and sand to craft the 160-foot-tall castle and in recent years has added a metal dome to the roof and dragon shaped fireplace.
